Dear Future AP Psychology Students, Most of you probably have heard that psychology has to do with the brain and the mind and you are pretty right. We learn about the parts of the brain all the way to mental disorders like common ones like Bi-Polar Depression. The course consists of some notes, lots of content digs (group worksheets), and tests. The most tedious thing to do for AP Psych is the vocabulary we do for tests. We are supposed to do it everyday to keep up so that it doesn't pile up but a lot of the time you will forget about it because of other classes. One of the things I loved most about the class was the group I had that I had for most of the content digs. We would work on content digs while cracking jokes and often work fast and have some leftover time at the end to talk. My advice for future students would probably be to keep up with the vocabulary. I have done both spaced interval study and procrastinated and the ladder is not as nice. The work starts to pile...

This week our assignment was to write about anything relating to psychology so I have decided to write about emotions, specifically, the relationship between the emotions. When you are raising a child, most of the time, they tend to not be able to recognize commands or any language for that matter when they are in their youngest stages. You may tell a child to stop crying or to be quiet but they won't listen mainly because they really don't understand what you're saying, but they seem to understand when you're mad at them or happy with with them. When you think about it, it makes sense. When you see a younger baby, what do you usually do? Smile and wave at them or greet them and ask how their day was? You smile and wave because when you do, the baby smiles and gets all happy. The baby doesn't understand language but the emotions you show it. Additionally, when people start to spend more time with others who are constantly in one emotion, like sadness, they ...

Personality Lab Test: In this test, you were give 100 questions and they were asking how you would feel in reaponse to certain scenarios. I ended up scoring a 50 on narcissism showing that I have high confidence and can sometimes feel insecure. I got a 72 on Machiavellianism and a 39 in Psychopathy. These show that I am usually pretty concerned about my social image and the actions I take. I would say that this test is relatively accurate and that I am a lot of what it says. Jung Typology Test: This test basically determined my introversion and extroversion through a series of questions. It determined that I was the thinking type and that I am very intuitive. I would agree with this because I usually think out what I do before I do it. Test your Morality Test: this test was designed to judge your moral compass. It gave you a series of questions with scenarios and asked you what you think was right or wrong. I believe this was not too accurate because slot of the things it said were...

The article i found list some cool facts about hearing. I found it pretty cool that earwax has been used by anthropologist to trace early migration patterns even though i don't really understand why. I also found out that certain organisms like snakes and mosquitos use other ways to hear things like their jawbones or antenna. I also found out that if you listen to music that is as low as 120 decibels, you can damage your hearing in just seven and a half minutes. In addition, I thought the craziest thing that I read was that during WWI, Paris placed parrots on the eiffel tower because of their incredible sense of hearing. They would alert the French government if they ever heard danger coming their way. The picture i put below is a picture of a superhero i really like named "Daredevil". He is blind but because he is blind, is sense of hearing has heightened to an extreme level. He fights crime with his mask covering his eyes and locates bad people throughout the city b...

The life of Xavier Ibarrola... It all started on a dark stormy night. The day was September 17, 2001, six days after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. I do not remember my first steps or my first words but from what I've been told, my first word was ma-ma. When I started puberty, it was really weird. I started getting an extreme abundance of voice cracks and my behavior was unordinarily erratic. I developed emotional attachments to my friends and family that enabled me to become a sociable person in my classes. I started to visit them more and more the farther I went into puberty because it was always fun to hang out with them. Up to this day I still hang out with my friends and family all the time so that I establish longer relationships and have fun. In the future I hope to graduate with a strong GPA and a strong rank in June of 2020. I hope to go to A&M or UT Austin and get a degree in chemical or mechanical engineering. I have family that went to UT and family that...

Birthday: September 17th Categories: Temporal lobe, Dopamine Hero name: Opioid Origin Story: One day Preston Zimmerman was tinkering with one of his dad's creations. The energy hit Preston in the head sending him flying across the room through the glass glass window out into the lake. The incubator was left open and demolished every object and person in the building. Preston's father along with his little brother were killed and it was because of his idiocy.
